Uptown Apartment Port City Retreat

Welcome to our spacious, thoughtfully updated apartment—one half of a charming up/down duplex—designed to be a comfortable, flexible home base whether you’re visiting for work or a relaxing stay in Saint John.

The layout works well for professionals, families, or small groups. One bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, while the second bedroom offers a double bed. The cozy den adds extra flexibility with a daybed that can be arranged as a sofa, a twin, two twins, or a king as you wish (please let us know when booking)—ideal for colleagues travelling together or guests who want separate sleeping options (note, you do need to walk through the den to get to one bedroom - privacy screens provided). It also has a large table that can be a second dining area or workspace.

The apartment has been recently refreshed with fully renovated bathrooms and kitchen, along with fresh paint throughout. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware, and essentials, plus a built-in filtered water tap for added convenience. The living room offers a comfortable reclining couch and a smart TV for unwinding after a long day. A second mobile smart TV can be moved to any room or used as a larger monitor—perfect for remote work or presentations.

We’re continuing to improve the space, with additional upgrades planned in the coming months, including new flooring and a heat pump for enhanced comfort year-round.

This is a character-filled older building, and with that comes some natural quirks that reflect its age and history—something many guests find adds to its charm.

Upstairs, a family with a child lives in the other unit. While soundproofing is quite good, some normal day-to-day noise may occasionally be heard. Evenings are typically quiet after about 8:30 pm. Families are very welcome, and we aim to maintain a respectful, relaxed environment for everyone.

If you’re looking for a completely private and quieter setting, you may also want to consider our separate tiny house on the property, with no shared walls or neighbours above or below.

To keep the space comfortable for all guests, parties and loud music are not permitted.

Street parking available:
Evenings and weekends: free. Weekdays: free for two hours; a guest permit is available from City Hall if you would like to park longer during the day (two weeks max).
Note: As with any city, please don't leave expensive items in your car, and make sure you lock it.

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Seventy-five percent (75.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 10 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 2 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 2 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued. Grace period with free cancellation (no cancellation fees or partial refunds possible) for 48 hours after booking if arrival is at least 48 hours away at time of booking.
